AAUW Lombard Branch Annual Used Book Sale

The Lombard Area AAUW opens its annual Used Book Sale on Wednesday, August 3, from 5-9 p.m. at First Church of Lombard. Wednesday is "Pre-Sale Night" and timed entry tickets will be given out at 3 P.M. and admission is $10.00 or $15.00 with an ISBN scanner. Admission is free on Thursday and Friday, August 4-5 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. as well as on Saturday, when the Sale is open from 9:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with special pricing- -fill a bag of books for only $10.00. Over 15,000 sorted books will be on display including "collectibles", children’s books, and "better books," in addition to hardback and paperback fiction and non-fiction. There's something for everyone and many a special book to be found! Most books are priced from $.50 – $2.00, with better books and collectibles $5.00 and up. Proceeds from this annual event fund local and national scholarships as well as the Legal Advocacy Fund. The mission of the American Association of University Women is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library will host a massive Used Book Sale at the downtown Central Library, 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, on:

* Thursday, August 18, 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

* Friday, August 19, 11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

* Saturday, August 20, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Used books, CDs, VHS tapes, audio books, cassettes, large print books, and periodicals will be available to the public at clearance prices starting at 25 cents.  A variety of steeply discounted merchandise will also be available. Bargain hunters will not be disappointed.

The sale, open to the public, will be held on the downtown Library’s second floor. Cash, VISA and MasterCard will be accepted.

Materials being sold at the book sale are no longer in circulation, may be slightly damaged, or have been donated for public sale. The sale will include works of fiction, biographies, reference, non-fiction, and children’s books to name a few.

The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System, now celebrating its 175 year, has more than 3.5 million items in its borrowing collection including e-content materials. Library cards are free for Erie County residents and can be obtained in any of the local public libraries in Erie County.
