You said you have four pairs of glasses and that only one lens in each pair is prescribed. Why have so many pairs? “For some girls, they like to accessorize with rings, necklaces or big earrings. I like simple diamonds and pearls, and to dress up with glasses.”
Describe your style . “I asked my friends because I didn’t know. I normally throw on jeans, a T-shirt and boots, which I normally wear. They said it’s simple with a little edge. I’d probably say boho chic.”
OK, I’ve got to ask this. It’s hot and you are wearing cowboy boots. Do you not get hot wearing boots in the summer? “I do, but I’m kind of used to it. Summer doesn’t really stop me from wearing my boots. I love cowboy boots. There’s a store in (Nashville) Tennessee where you can get three pairs for the price of one. I don’t like wearing heels, but I love cowboy boots.” (The name of the Nashville store is Boot Country on Broadway Street.)
Is there anything you won’t wear? “I’m not big on dresses with bows or girlie dresses.”
Where do you like to shop? “New York & Co. fits me well. But, I like everything from Banana Republic to Urban Outfitters.”
Who inspires you when it comes to fashion? “I’d say Kate Hudson because she can blend boho with a pair of Converse, and Carrie Underwood because she knows how to dress up a pair of cowboy boots.”
What's one thing you always have before leaving the house? "Most people would say my makeup bag. I just carry it with me everywhere. I don't touch up my makeup during the day. It's always with me."
Why did you cut your hair? "I've always wanted to go short. I knew if I didn't like it, it would grow back. If I could, I'd go as short as (actress) Ginnifer Goodwin , and go back to brown.''
So, your hair is bleached? "To have this color, obviously, it has to be bleached. I wanted to go blond and ended up going the blondest.''
When was the last time you stepped out of your box when it came to fashion? It can be at work or on the weekend. “I guess at Art on the Rocks (at the Birmingham Museum of Art.) I wore a dress and heels and big earrings. I guess that was a trio that rarely happens.
