Flash flood watch for N. Arizona; Schultz area mostly spared this morning
A flash flood watch is in place until this evening for much of northern Arizona.
This includes Flagstaff, Williams, Munds Park, Happy Jack, Grand Canyon, Lees Ferry, Supai and farther, to Pinetop and Window Rock.
Storm clouds were flowing south to north across the state and mostly skirting the Schultz burn area to the east as of about 10:30 this morning, said Mark Stubblefield, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Bellemont.
The agency is warning of "high" potential flood danger to come later today downhill of the burn area, however, and a flood watch remains in place for most of northern Arizona through this evening.
Most of the rain gauges in the Schultz burn area were reporting rainfall of less than one-tenth of an inch this morning.
