SunTrust Banks appoints new corporate treasurer

Burdiss will be responsible for managing SunTrust's interest rate risk profile as well as overseeing the liquidity, capital management and investment portfolio functions.

Most recently he was executive vice president and treasurer of Comerica Incorporated and Comerica Bank, serving in a similar capacity. In addition to holding a variety of other leadership roles with Comerica, he previously worked in commercial lending with Bank of Nova Scotia.

Burdiss will report to the company's CFO Aleem Gillani, whom he succeeds as Treasurer.

Prior to his appointment as CFO earlier in 2011 Gillani served as corporate treasurer and temporarily retained the post while a search for a new treasurer was conducted.
