Pool firm ex-manager sentenced to 2 years
Gregory Wolfe, one of the managers of a Sacramento swimming pool company that went bust five years ago amid criminal allegations, has been sentenced to two years in prison, effectively closing the Contractors State License Board's role in the case.
Wolfe and his wife, Teresa, ran Aquarius Pools until the CSLB shut it down amid numerous complaints from angry customers and subcontractors.
Aquarius Pools abruptly halted operations in August 2006, leaving more than 60 area families with partially completed swimming pools. Aquarius' contractor's license ultimately was revoked.
In 2008, the Wolfes were arrested and charged in connection with spending customer money for their personal expenses. Earlier this year, they entered no-contest pleas to multiple charges.
Teresa Wolfe was sentenced to one year in jail and five years' probation in connection with embezzlement and tax evasion charges.
